Seems this week is the time to buy Stealths!  The other day ntcmpjg picked up his 94 Stealth R/t.  Today I picked up my second Stealth R/T.  This one is a 91 model in great condition. New paint with not a scratch or nick in the paint. Interior is in great condition besides a tear in the drivers side door panel. Brand new tires to top it all off. ECS light blink but looks to be from a broken wire on one of the struts as I can hear some of the motors turn on when I click the button.

Has a few minor problems that should take any time to fix.  Small fuel leak that looks to be an injector o-ring leaking.  Clutch slave and master are leaking "Clutch pedal sits on the floor". The guy thinks the clutch is going out or shot but I think it is just from the clutch hydraulic issues.  I already have all the parts to fix the problems " even a spare clutch if needed. The guy had trouble getting it to idle correctly so he tightened the throttle cable so it idled at 3000 rpm to stop it from dying  Bang Head Needless to say the idle problem has already been fixed. Idle adjustment screw was turned all the way out.

The best part is I payed less then 1k for the car.....  Tongue

The center console side panels are in the back seat. he installed a new computer trying to fix the idle issue. The old computer is sitting in the front seat. Just needs the leaking caps replaced and tested. So I might have a spare computer! Smiley

Nah... You don't want to see that one just yet.  It's 3 different colors and ugly as hell right now.  LOL

The last pics I have of the targa are in my 99 conversion thread but they are mostly of the front end.

That's a steal by the way. I have a set of H4 HID lights that I need to sell to buy a set for the new stealth.

Sure is!  It's the one me and Drew went and looked at. I'll be tackling the interior cleaning tomorrow if the weather is nice. I might take half the day off to hit the junkyard for some parts.

LKQ is right around the corner from my house.  They have 2 91 Stealth's in their yard right now.  One has no interior Smiley and the other is still pretty complete.  Both are SOHC but they have a couple Diamante/Montero's with the DOHC engines if I need engine parts.

So I spent most of the day digging into the car to fix the little things that were wrong.

Idle issue caused by injector o-rings being shot and throttle adjustments out of wack.  The injectors are brand new but who ever put them in didn't use new o-rings.

Replaced the leaking slave cylinder. Thought I would have to replace the master also but it was just the slave that was shot. I was hoping that once the slave was fixed it would also fix the supposed clutch issues but unfortunately I have to replace the clutch also.

This is where it really become fun! The clutch I am going to use is the one I instaled in my other Stealth when I did the ATX-MTX swap.  I put a Exedy Stock clutch in that before I though about doing the TT conversion.  Now I know I need a stronger clutch so I am going to pull that clutch out and use it on the new Stealth. I'll later go and install a South Bend stage 2 for the FWD TT.

For the most part of the day I spent cleaning the inside out of the car.  After getting all the dirt and stains up the car really looks great inside. I only have a couple parts that need to be replaced and I believe I have them laying around here somewhere.  The clutch is really the biggest item but nothing I can't knock out in a couple of hours!

So I changed my mind.  I am not going to go through all of the trouble dropping one transmission to get a stock clutch out.  I ordered an XTD stage 3 for the new Stealth.  I checked out the reviews on *** and they look to hold up really well for a DD car that likes to have some fun!  Smiley

I have decided that I am going to hold off on doing the TT conversion on the Targa Stealth.  I need to really evaluate the condition of that engine.  The lower part of the engine has 40-50k since it's rebuild.  The upper was just recently done so it should be in great condition considering I have yet to drive the car since completing it.  I will hold off on the TT conversion until I can get some miles on the engine and really evaluate it.  Once I know it is solid then I will move to doing the conversion.

Sucks cause I just bought a really nice engine stand!  Embarrassed

Hey, do the engines in those SOHC's look okay?  How much do you think one of those would run?

@Harbinger  One of the SOHC is a Cash for Clunkers car so the engine is locked.  The other is slowly being stripped apart.  Heads are gone.

So I got the clutch installed today and the car moves.... Yeah! Took some time as the XTD clutch I bought had some issues with the splines.  Seems they never cleaned them up after machining so it didn't slide on to easily. I had to clean it up with some light sanding and it slide on good. The clutch really bits good so we'll see how long it lasts.  I still have to break it is so I'm hoping it lightens up a little.

Now I just have to check the idle as it shot back up again and replace the door panels and it's all good.  I want to look into fixing the ECS too but only if it's something simple. If it becomes to much of a pain I'll skip it for now.
